When I pulled into my in-laws driveway this evening to pick up my dog, I saw that I’d missed my dad calling. There was no voice mail, and for some random reason, I found myself thinking that he’d called to tell me his mom had died. I shook the thought from my head. I knew [...]

Holy crap, we’re gonna be parents!

Brief Update
July 8th, 2009 · No Comments
Just over a week ago I had my first appointment with a regular endocrinologist. As opposed to the reproductive endocrinologist variety. I must say that I’ve had a smidgen of my faith in doctors restored.
With the exception of my RE, I’ve had a hell of a time finding someone to treat my PCOS. The absolute [...]

Masochism FTW!
May 12th, 2009 · No Comments
It appears that I’ve yet to learn that the definition of insanity really is trying the same thing over and over again in an attempt to elicit a different outcome. The evidence can be found by scrolling down until “Nike+” appears in the left column.
You can follow along to see how my masochistic streak is [...]

The in-laws are out of town for a few days again, which means free reign of their pool again! w00t!
For whatever unknown reason (as it certainly wasn’t based in reality) I decided that I was going to swim 30 laps tonight. It took forever, and the last 10 laps were just short of excruciating, but [...]

Slacking As Usual.

So anyway, the blog has (again) fallen by the wayside as a result. I just haven’t been in the mood to write lately. Something about the news two weeks ago being as depressing as expected. The best part? The sites from the progesterone in oil injections are still sore, and could stay sore for a [...]

I’ll be stopping in on the way to work to have my blood drawn for the official pregnancy test.
Anyone think that the results will differ from what’s listed above?

Two More Blood Draws to Go!
July 6th, 2008 · No Comments
I had my blood drawn this morning. Again it was a production due to my less than cooperative veins. As usual, the only on that would cooperate is the one on top of my bicep on my left arm. It’s getting harder not to roll my eyes regarding how “brave” I am for letting them [...]

Waiting for a Sign.

Well, the transfer was on Tuesday. We had the two surviving embryos transferred. One was where it was supposed to be developmentally, and the other one was almost there. After the transfer, an ultrasound was performed, and we could see the little white dot that represented the embryos.
Now the question is: will they implant or [...]

I’m a few days behind in updating…things have been craptastic at best around here lately.
The retrieval was on Wednesday. Of the 20+ follicles, 10 were retrievable. The majority fragmented when the needle was inserted into the follicle. Lovely, but not really.
Of the 10 eggs retrieved, 5 were mature. Of these 5, 3 fertilized normally. On [...]
