A Good Shopping Experience

November 27th, 2009 · No Comments

I’ve been losing weight lately courtesy of the Metformin. I hadn’t
realized just how much weight I’ve lost until I went clothing
shopping.
First stop was J.C. Penney. They had jeans on sale for 13.99 a pair. I
discovered that I can fit into loose jeans with a 36″ waist, and that
it won’t be long before I can steal [...]

Brief Update

July 8th, 2009 · No Comments

Just over a week ago I had my first appointment with a regular endocrinologist.  As opposed to the reproductive endocrinologist variety.  I must say that I’ve had a smidgen of my faith in doctors restored.
With the exception of my RE, I’ve had a hell of a time finding someone to treat my PCOS.  The absolute [...]

Masochism FTW!

May 12th, 2009 · No Comments

It appears that I’ve yet to learn that the definition of insanity really is  trying the same thing over and over again in an attempt to elicit a different outcome.  The evidence can be found by scrolling down until “Nike+” appears in the left column.
You can follow along to see how my masochistic streak is [...]

It Burnses!

April 27th, 2008 · No Comments

My nieces came over Saturday afternoon and stayed until Sunday afternoon.  Saturday evening we took a long walk to the elementary school that’s just up the way and discovered that nowadays, they lock the playgrounds after hours.  At four miles round trip, with the last half being uphill, the walk pretty well pwned everyone except [...]

Typical Wardrobe Expenditures – A Comparison.

March 31st, 2008 · No Comments

A couple of posts ago I was griping about what I paid for a freaking swimsuit.  Yesterday, we hit the sale at JC Penney, as I’m down to one pair of jeans that fit and are free of holes, especially holes in the butt area.   I’m still searching for at least one pair that’s been [...]

Backyard Landscaping, Phase II.

March 31st, 2008 · No Comments

Last weekend (or the one before), we finally got around to staking out where we’re planning on having the turf portion of the backyard. Yesterday, the in-laws came over and helped us start the long process of removing the rocks from the area we are planning on putting the turf on. Considering that ours [...]

Stupid Boobs.

March 27th, 2008 · No Comments

While I’m glad that swimwear that will accommodate my assets is available, I’m not so thrilled at being set back $105 give or take a few cents after the currency conversion.
Stupid weak US Dollar.
I only thought it was bad when it was 1.5:1. At 2:1, I can’t help but long for the 1.5:1 days.
Unfortunately for [...]

Dude! I Have to Give Up What?!

January 26th, 2008 · No Comments

I know that I’ve said I wasn’t going to be discussing my weight loss here again, but this was quite interesting and traumatic to me. I discovered a couple of months ago that I’ve somehow managed to gain back 20 of the 25 pounds that I’d lost. Not good. Especially when six of [...]

I Am A Candy Ass.

October 25th, 2007 · No Comments

Yesterday was my turn to take up the pick axe and work on the trenching in my back yard.  It took no time at all before I was dripping in sweat with a sore back and aching hands.  I at least had enough sense to stop before I was too sore to go into work [...]

Landscaping Nightmare.

October 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

Our house is as high up on the side of the mountain as the builder was willing to blast out. Rumor had it that the builder had the option of continuing like another acre and a quarter up the side of the mountain, but the blasting costs became prohibitive. Which is both good [...]
